These Air Fryer Sweet Potato Wedges are as crispy as they can get, perfectly seasoned, and so easy to make! With just a few ingredients, you’ll have a delicious snack or side dish ready to enjoy in under 20 minutes.

Golden and crispy air fryer sweet potato wedges with ketchup.

As much as I love regular potatoes, sweet potatoes hold a special place in my kitchen. Their natural sweetness pairs nicely with a warming spice blend. While they don’t crisp up quite like regular potatoes, they still get those golden, caramelized edges that’s so satisfying.

To get them as crispy as possible, I soaked the wedges in water for about 30 minutes. It’s a little trick that helps remove some of the excess starch. Pair that with a light coating of oil and spices, and you’ve got tender, well-seasoned wedges with crispy edges – the perfect side dish or snack.

I used to roast wedges in the oven, but the air fryer gets them on the table so much faster.

These wedges pair nicely with my spicy mayo for an extra kick. They’re also good as a side with a juicy burger, or air fryer chicken breasts for a hearty meal. Top a rice bowl or a veggie bowl with these sweet potato wedges and drizzle with your favorite dipping sauce.

Two sweet potatoes in a white background with oil and spices on the side.
  • Sweet Potatoes: To easily cut into wedges, look for small or medium-sized ones. But really, use whatever size you have on hand and cut into similar sizes as possible.
  • Oil: Any oil you have on hand to get the crispy edges. My go to light-tasting olive oil.
  • Paprika: Adds color and a bit of warmth.
  • Red chili powder or cayenne pepper: Some heat is required to offset the sweetness but it’s totally up to you.
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper: Freshly ground black pepper makes all the difference.

Quick Tips for Crispy Air Fryer Sweet Potato Wedges:

  • Slice them into similar sized wedges and cook in batches for maximum crispiness!
  • Serve immediately as they lose their crispiness as it cools.
  • Try different dips! Pair with ketchup, spicy mayo, or honey mustard.

Storage and Reheating

If there’s any leftovers store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Sadly, they do soften over time in the fridge.

Reheat in the air fryer 375°F for 3–5 minutes to bring back the crispiness.
